The 14th Street Community Redevelopment Agency Advisory Board considers and makes recommendations to the Community Redevelopment Agency (CRA) concerning redevelopment plans and amendments to the plan; review proposed annual work program, make recommendations to the Agency concerning such program and its implementation, and recommend project priorities; recommend incentives to further the redevelopment efforts. This Board was dissolved on June 17, 2014, per Resolution R-14-088

Administrative Hearing Officer proceedings are dispute hearings covered under Ordinance 07-32.

The Affordable Housing Advisory Committee undertakes and fulfill all obligations imposed by the State Housing Initiative Partnership (SHIP) Act and Rules; review the established policies and procedures, ordinances, land development regulations, and comprehensive plan and recommend specific actions or initiatives to encourage or facilitate affordable housing; submit reports to the Board that include recommendations on, and evaluates the implementation of, affordable housing incentives.

The Board of Zoning Appeals heard certain requests for variances.

The Transportation Advisory Board was a Blue Ribbon Panel, which had the task of addressing transportation priorities in the County.

The Board of County Commissioners convene as the Civic Center Authority.

The Code Enforcement Board hears cases in which the property owner pleads that they are not in violation. This Board was dissolved on October 22, 2013, per Ordinance 13-043

The Board of County Commissioners convene as the Community Redevelopment Agency.

Construction Code Board of Appeals hears requests for relief from construction codes.

The Palmetto/North Manatee County Enterprise Zone Development Agency was established to provide economic growth and development in the state designated Enterprise Zone area.

Environmental Action Commission

The Hearing Officer hears requests for Special Permits based on requirements of the Land Development Code. Examples of requests are a church in a residential area or a school in certain zoning districts.

The Historic Preservation Board hears requests for certain development in historic districts and historic vistas. Historic districts are designated as Whitfield, Cortez Fishing Village, and Terra Ceia Historic and Archaeological Overlay Districts. Historic vistas are areas surrounding historic places such as Gamble Mansion.

Imagine Manatee was a Countywide visioning process, which included subcommittees and meeting throughout the County.

The Investment Advisory Committee reviews quarterly performance and recommends changes to the County investment policy.

The Nuisance Abatement Board hears cases in which two arrests within six months have been made at a property for prostitution, drugs, or gang activity. The Board has the authority to declare a place of premises to be a public nuisance and order the owner to abate such nuisance.

The South County Community Redevelopment Agency Advisory Board considers and makes recommendations to the Community Redevelopment Agency (CRA) concerning redevelopment plans and amendments to the plan; review proposed annual work program, make recommendations to the Agency concerning such program and its implementation, and recommend project priorities; recommend incentives to further the redevelopment efforts. The Unlicensed Construction Activities Panel hears charges against individuals and businesses that have been cited with performing or advertising work for which a license is required.

The Value Adjustment Board and the Value Adjustment Board Special Magistrate hear petitions regarding exemptions, classifications, and ad valorem tax values. In August the Property Appraiser mails Truth in Millage notices known as TRIM notices. Property owners contesting the assessed valuation of property may file a petition and have a hearing before the Special Magistrate. Based on the evidence and testimony presented by the property owner, the Special Magistrate makes a recommendation to the Value Adjustment Board.
